Krylon UV Archival Stain Varnish Spray

Krylon UV Archival Stain Varnish Spray

UV Archival Varnish contains Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer (HALS) and UV Absorber (UVA) for the maximum in UV protection. Advanced non-yellowing protection against fading, dirt, moisture and discoloration. Removable for conservation purposes. Dry to touch in 10-15 minutes and dry to handle after 2 hours. For use with fine art surfaces.

Quick method (after each use)

  1. Turn the can upside down
  2. Spray for 2–3 seconds until only clear gas comes out
→ This clears varnish from the nozzle and dip tube

If it’s already clogged

  1. Remove the nozzle (pull straight up)
  2. Soak it in:
    • Mineral turps / paint thinner, or
    • Isopropyl alcohol (for lighter buildup)
  3. Use a pin or needle to gently clear the hole
  4. Rinse, dry, and reattach

Extra tips

  • Wipe the nozzle after use to avoid buildup
  • Don’t leave the can sitting with varnish inside the nozzle
  • If badly blocked, nozzles are often interchangeable with other spray cans
