PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Since 1963, the inimitable DAS clay has been an iconic Italian-made brand. It comes in classic white and terracotta colours, and today also in marble shades. It is an air-drying clay and does not require cooking. Synonymous with modelling throughout the world, it is recognized for its versatility and for being easy to mould and work with. It can adhere to supports of any kind and can be easily used with other materials.

It can be painted with tempera, acrylic, and other colours. This self air-hardening (non-baking) modelling clay dries in about 24 hours per centimetre. It has a fine, even texture that is easy to smooth. It can be used with wood, cardboard, and terracotta. The DAS Red Line has expanded the range with a new stone-effect modelling clay.

Paint and varnish are recommended to seal and strengthen your creation.

Drying time: it is recommended to allow 24 hours per centimeter to dry in shade.

DAS Wood is FILA’s innovative air-hardening modelling clay designed to mimic the look and feel of real wood. Unlike other DAS clays, it has a unique formula that creates strong, long-lasting wooden-style sculptures without baking.

Easy to use for artists, designers, hobbyists, schools, and beginners alike, it works well for bas-reliefs, full sculptures, sheets, moulds, up-cycling, and restoration. It dries naturally in 24 hours to one week depending on thickness and can be carved, inlaid, and detailed during drying, and even worked with milling tools once fully hardened.

When dry, it can be painted with many mediums—watercolours, inks, and chalks are ideal for preserving the natural wood effect.

Available in 350 g and 700 g packs (similar in size to DAS White 500 g and 1 kg), DAS Wood is solvent-free, dermatologically tested, and safe for children.
